My dad worked as a mechanic for a lot of brands. The one trick he gave me is cut the suggested oil change in half. So 10k? Make it 5k.

Toyota and Honda have begun their down spiral journey soon to match Nissan. The only reliable Japanese car out there is the Mazda. Inknow they have some hybrids,EVs and turbos, however, no CVT so far and the new CX5 is far far more reliable than Rav4 and CRV

I’m a big believer that all cars are becoming similarly reliable with increasing technology. That’s why BMW and Mercedes are better now but Toyota and Honda are losing their appeal.

Thats not even regular cvt… i have seen many corollas and rav4 reach 300 000km with regular maintenance. To me that sounds pretty good

Vehicles has more technology these days and less mechanical.. more like a cell phone these days they don’t build to last. More like Build to replace.. they became more “eco” friendly

It’s all cause EPA. Alllllll to save a few mpg. Example is the civic si. Instead of upping the horsepower they made the engine smaller with the same power with a turbo. Such a shame
