I have had glimpses of this and I felt emotional. Just glimpses so not enough data to know what it was exactly, I’m almost certain that it was some type of resentment.

Can I ask your advice if you were the party that caused harm but are struggling to hold space with the other people’s emotions because it triggers your own shame too much? I know it’s a me problem and protective ego

It is very difficult for me to tell if someone is truly remorseful for the harm that they have done to me, or if they just want a consequence for themselves to go away. My litmus test is this: Are they capable of being kind/compassionate/empathetic towards me if their apology didn’t get them what they wanted? It takes time to figure it out, but people’s true colors always reveal themselves eventually.
