@shaylanoelani: I cried while making this. This is something I’ve been carrying in my heart for a long time. Watching my mom live with Alzheimer’s has changed me in ways I never expected. It’s a kind of grief that doesn’t wait for goodbye. You grieve them while they’re still here. You mourn the memories, the conversations, the pieces of them that slowly fade. Some days I feel strong. Other days I feel completely undone. And on the days I don’t have the strength, I lean into my faith because God is the only place big enough to hold this kind of pain. I hold onto this verse when my heart feels heavy: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” — Isaiah 41:10 I believe God is still with my mom in every moment, even when her mind feels far away. And I trust Him with what I can’t understand or fix. I’m sharing this in case you’re carrying something similar.
