I lubricate my tip seals. I am a gm technician. Why is it bad?

I have lubed fuel o-rings with Vasoline on automotive and turbine engines for 30 years. Why do you say not to lube?

Bold to assume they lubricated the seals. They most likely tore upon install. Up north we see the injector ports in the head corroded, that corrosion then rips the seal. I've seen them make it 500 miles until it starts leaking combustion. Highly recommend wire brush or some sort of reamer.

Make sure to use the sizer to shrink the teflon seal. And lubricating the seals are fine lol

All these people saying they’ve always lubed them and doing it for decades, how are they not realizing these aren’t regular injectors-they’re direct injectors. Completely different. And haven’t been around for decades.

I have never seen one of those seals leak like that. Someone reused the seal, that’s why that happened. I thought you were going to say it was because the crankshaft needs a bigger woodruff key. I’ve been a master gm tech for 26 years.
