I'm a flooring expert. Not all flooring is installed in the same manner of with the same tools. Read the installation guide at least twice before starting.

As a floor layer......most of this was accurate. Good enough for a small room. However, if your floor is floating and it does NOT have pad (under layment) on the back, you ABSOLUTELY need an underlayment down. It's also NOT water proof. It's water resistant. Usually up to 72 hours. An Underlayment is there to also help with moisture.

Laminate flooring is not waterproof. Don’t listen to that part. LVP, which is a different type of flooring is water resistant, but still also not waterproof.
