I know that's a tough subject. and you touched on some of it last discussion when disclosing that john sutter didn't get the lands at fort ross, just the assets. you also mentioned the treaty of Cahuenga in which agreed to honor and respct the inhabitants color of title perfect or inchoate these inhabitants included a mix of races including Natives and this was incorporated into the treaty of guadalupe hidalgo. spanish subjects the republic of indians had rights to their lands secured to them in spanish law, and they could sell their lands and these were confirmed by the united states supreme court. california was reorganized under the republic of Mexico. Who did not set aside these rights of Indians under spain. you also mentioned commodore sloat plenopintentary of th US who made alliances and allegiance with California Indians proclaiming the U S the inhabitants of California's best friends agrees to honor the inhabitants color of right Mission Indians being considered civilized with legal rights and titles to lands who could sell their lands this too was confirmed by the US Supreme Court under Ritchie 1853. I really enjoy the dissertations many interesting topics Keep up the good work
