As Aussies we didn't see anyone with a first edition base set Charizard as it was never released here, we didn't even get shadowless, we got unlimited set as the first release of Pokemon cards. We did get first edition fossil onwards though. the whole reason a first edition Charizard is actually worth so much is because only a few actual places mostly in California got the first run of WOTC 1st editions before shadowless and unlimited got sent out all of the US and the rest of the world. Saying you saw someone with a 1st edition Charizard in Aus was like saying Mew was hidden under the truck at the SS Anne because your dad works for Nintendo
