Summary story (and basically the entire plot of the game): You play a man from the military, you are tasked to find some sort of cure, or rather discover the mystery of what plagued and doom this land that was isolated away from the outside world. Upon discovery however, you become unconscious. The player then is firstly played as the doctor. He is the one who is trying to actually do something about this plague, but seemed to have done nothing despite the progress he’s made. He took the protagonist in for questioning as he can spot how unfamiliar the protagonist is and the fact he had a key on him. During questioning, he punched the protagonist in the face and scurries off into the night for his own search while the player is now playing the protagonist on the game. You’re new objective is to venture the Darkwood’s, find supplies to help you during gameplay and the night, and find where that doctor went to get the key and go back home to your wife. The way this game plays and the way they make this story is so good and I highly recommend playing it or watching a gameplay of it. I would stream it, but I got banned off of tiktok streaming. Reminder, this game doesn’t rely on jumpscares. The devs themselves said it was cheap and always expected.
