@lornainspired: I am 57 and have always had relatively clear skin with no previous eczema or flare ups. However, three months ago I had a sudden huge flare up - my eyes swelled every time I wore make up and became red, itchy and swollen. A few Dr’s appointments later and I was diagnosed with contact dermatitis. The pain and stress has been relentless, BUT, I have been ‘large flare up free’ for around three weeks now. I do have smaller, red flare ups (the second part of the video above) I am in the process of repairing my skin barrier and to do this I have changed a few things. Firstly, I removed my biab nails (even though the dermatologist said it was not them causing the flare ups) I have stopped using ALL of my usual skincare/beauty products and I simply use Cetraben @Cetraben to moisturise regularly (I take it out with me!) I use Illiyoon from @Boots UK to wash and am using gentle shampoo and conditioner (nothing else, no make up, no hair oil products, setting products, or beauty treatments) nothing… I feel my skin has started to repair, however, it is a journey, I have used a little make up (see a previous video on my page and the second film here is a slight flare up after this) I definitely feel that the skin is repairing and having seen so many lovely people here struggling, I wanted to share some tips - I am still learning and it is a process - I may use a product today that causes me a flare up and be back to square one … BUT it’s a start 🖤 if you’ve read this far then I know you are also struggling - feel free to comment below and I will answer any questions x #inspired #contactdermatitis #eczemaflareup #over50 #skincaretips

Hi, A few months after covid, this happened to me too. I am allergic to the iron oxides in makeup, this is used to pigment makeup, all makeup. I also have a nickel and cobalt allergy, both traces can be found in makeup. (CI 7043) is an example of what that ingredient looks like in makeup.

I have been the same!! Tried to manage it for around 2 weeks but was just getting worse. Went to the doctor and have resorted to hydrocortisone to get it under control.x

I feel you. I’ve not been able to wear makeup for 6 months now. I’d love to have clear skin and just to wear a bit of mascara but I’m too scared it will make it worse. I had metal removed out my arm nearly 7 weeks ago and it’s just not budging. I think mine is nickel. Which is pretty much in everything even food. Going to be so hard for you to remove everything fragranced

I’ve had every name under the sun for mine 😂 it’s definitely hormones for me. I eat a low histamine diet and use a face cream by Zoe Bee as I can only use natural. 🥰

I started it a year ago. Same diagnosis for me. Are you earrings gold? I am allergic to gold. I've been wearing custom jew earrings and just realized that they have copper in them. Google copper allergy and choose images. It's exactly what I have.
