@a.space.to.breathe: On Saturday, I attended the funeral of our family neighbour — a man who was more than a neighbour, he was a father figure to many of us who grew up on the same street. As we gathered to honour his life, I was reminded that behind every life lost, there is often a woman who suddenly finds herself carrying The Unwanted Title:Widow. This moment reminded me why these conversations cannot wait until grief arrives at our doorstep. Today, I am introducing a new series called “Before you become a Widow.” This is not a series built on fear, it is built on love, dignity, preparedness, and protection. It is about the conversations many families avoid, the financial and emotional realities many women face silently, and the legacy planning many households postpone.
