I found that jacket at a goodwill for 10 bucks. Saw my future with that jacket… white picket fence, 2.5 kids… then in a drunken moment while leaving a dirty dive bar, i threw it all away. I left it there by mistake. Tried to track it down the next day, but it was already gone. To be honest, i never truly deserved that jacket, but late at night when i can’t sleep, i sit and think about the man i could have been if i had treated that jacket, not as a next morning hungover afterthought, but with the honor it truly deserved.
