Landlord wanted me to buy, but wouldn't do this because he didn't want to sell below market value. He had me down all the work to get the valuations done, so I just marked it down to the price we wanted to buy at that allowed us to have a 10% deposit. He still doesn't know. He was happy with the price.

If s relative sells a property its called a connected person and the seller has to pay Capital Gains tax on the full market value not the sale price .

A while ago, our old landlord offered the house to us for £200000 when we said no and moved it was listed for for £190000 and sold for £185000
