there are some comics artists i follow and usually it's subtle things like "oh hey men might wear dresses, don't be a jerk about it" (lunarbaboon) or lesbian rat characters (breaking cat news) but when this stuff happens, they speak up. fowl language made a single comic in response to one of the big school shootings just to cope with his own feelings. not to mention xkcd blatantly supporting Hillary

I’m always glad when people tell me their politics. I’ll unfollow someone if they don’t believe in human rights whether or not they make great soup. And that’s the real issue, if we expect them to tell us their beliefs then it may hit their wallet. It’s about self preservation, and to be clear I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say something like this and found out they screwed left in their beliefs.
