Clarification - sleeping in two blocks of time was due to using wood, which will go out and lose heat after a few hours, waking us up due to the temperature difference. Industrial revolution changed that because fires could now burning all night.

tbf 8,8,8 doesn't even work you work 8 hours and then you drive home wich also takes time and eat wich also takes time than do gym and study AND THAN you have like 2 hours left for video games or some hobbies and then sleep 8 hours so no its more like 8.2.8

ppl naturally slept whenever they want and woke up whenever they want but due to sunlight, most people naturally ended up sleeping at night when it was dark and then as soon as light hit them, they woke up and started their days. During winters, they ended up sleeping significantly more than during summer times
