the horrible position is being asked in the 1st place, you immediately have to decide yes or no....YES starts off the loop you're talking about here. NO can make you feel bad and the person who has asked will be unhappy. Asking changes relationships!!

thats why I just give them money. now if they asked me for a loan of something big id probably say no cause im broke. but if its like 50 for food or gas etc I dont even bother asking it back if I can spare it. and if they wanna pay me back then thats a bonus

I always loan my 26 YEAR OLD brother money for stupid stuff like tattoos and probably for alcohol I always help, but when I ask for a 100$ loan for a new motor for my e-bike (something actually useful) he says no, AND he still owes me 25$ for another loan he ask me for. 26 year old asking a 12 year old for a loan🥀
