This is crazy! We have zero debt, cars paid off, no house payment. Just cost of living bills, and there is no way we could afford a 500k could let alone a 800k, combined we are making 185-190k unless we want to be house poor.

That might be what you need to buy it but you need more than that to actually afford it. My husband and I’s house was less than $300k and even with our dual income, which is a pretty good combined income, it’s still difficult in this economy.
