I’m the alt girlie i desperately wanted to be in middle/high school. But my parents wouldn’t allow it. I’ve always been into rock/ scremo/metalcore and all things halloween and horror. Over the last 4ish years I’ve become more comfortable in who I am and not what others wanted me to be. I’m almost 35 and able to express myself/dress how I want and it’s freeing. I see alt/goth girls and I just want to befriend them bc they get me. Not everyone is trying to be trendy.

Agree 100%!! It's a trend, if I was an OG goth person I would hate it. All the bullying and weird looks/comments now everyone wants in on the culture. To me it's not just about the "look" more about the attitude and lifestyle. Forever punk 👍

I know how you feel. 24 years tattooing professionally, and have been tattooed since 8 grade. I love the acceptance, yet… counter culture isn’t what it was. Pros/cons. 😂

for me it's that I feel more comfortable being myself now🖤 I use to be scared of what my family thought and other and now I just don't car anymore....and I have more money now to dye my hair the way I want and dress how I want :p but I totally get it.
