@vibe_samurai: You have one life. One blip of existence. The biggest risk isn’t failure - it’s getting to the end and realizing you never even tried. I’m 50, and I’ve seen this happen. Don’t let fear win. #lifelessons #motivation #over50 #vibesamurai #noregrets
Bollox. Life is a balancing act. No more no less. Life does not always permit you to ‘go for it’ to the maximum extent without a reasonable fear of failure. A guitarist with a pregnant wife may have a dream of superstardom but if this doesn’t play out, he cannot blindly continue to pursue his dream whilst at the same time neglecting his responsibilities. Eventually he’s gotta take that job at Walmart.

This is requires nuance because this logic is deeply rooted in exceptionalism, most people are not the exception to the realities of life. while I love the message. Many people are not built or have resources to do hard thing given a host of sociological, socio-economic, reasons psychological factors. Failure is deeply earth shattering and many do not have the strength or resilience to come back from it and that’s the truth. It’s okay to live a normal peaceful life because that is a extraordinary life that the majority of people would die to live

It doesn’t matter if you live your life to the fullest, to the “maximum” or whatever that means to you. Life is meaningless, there are no “higher purposes”, live your life the way you want to live, the way you want, the way you feel good, do whatever makes you happy, comfortable, you don’t need to leave a mark, you don’t need grandiosity, it is perfectly fine to be a nobody.

imo this doesn't have big value . using the term fear is emotional . the correct term is risk management . if you don't do it you can end up in jail , sick , broke or dead . so the whole living at maximum argument may disappear because of purchasing an ideal that doesn't or can't exist ,considering your real limits that may not be only in your head .
