I agree, never overfund a 401K. Always match employer contributions, and invest other free cash into a brokerage account and/or IRA.

Only match if you’re going to stay at the company for x amount of years…ppl forget to mention that! If you leave before the time period of your companies policy has you will not take all the money with you when you leave.

Is it good to take advantage of the Roth401k? So I would max that out and then my company will put their match in the traditional account. Is there such a thing of the employers RothIRA not having “good accounts” hopefully that doesn’t sound dumb lol. I’d rather not have a separate Roth IRA account if I don’t have to.

Great job explaining the match. But if your target audience does not understand company match, they’re probably not a good fit for being savvy enough to understand the investment strategy of utilizing non retirement accounts or even IRA brokerage accounts where they could end up buying speculative securities and creating a poorly diversified portfolio.
