It was so deeply sad to watch, because it felt familiar. The emotional labor, the compromise, the settling for crumbs when we deserve the whole feast. But my sadness isn’t from believing the story. It’s from knowing we’re so often handed this as our only romantic blueprint. ENOUGH. I believe in Black women getting soft love, easy love, cherished love.
