I’m pro black and I have a white boyfriend. He is also pro black. He has embraced my culture and I can have in depth conversations with him about my blackness that some of my black family members can’t even comprehend. When I started dating him it was for his values and I don’t think that him being white takes that away from me.

Well, nope you can't. As per my definition, to be pro black is think about those that will come after you, what seeds have you planted to ensure that the next generation will be better off. It terms wealth, assets, network, etc, I cannot say I'm pro black when I'm an active participant in action that transfers wealth/heritage from a black "body " into white hands.e.g look at the black celebrities

I’ve seen a lot of this convo revolve around having kids, but you can have a black partner and choose not to have kids and that could have nothing to do with your blackness like i don’t think those two are connected at all

To discuss this topic you need to first research the origins of the term “pro black” and the activism of Marcus Garvey. It’s deeper than what you have mentioned in your video.

In my most pro black era I had a mixed child😂🤭 I think you can be pro black and date out. At one point I felt too pro black for black men if that makes sense. No one come fight me either pls I don’t have time to argue my point x

Umm. I lived in white areas for most of my childhood to adolescence. I realised black guys liked me as a teenager but I liked the white guys then kurdish/asian/persian guys, who I did try dating, but one of my close friends is Persian so I was around that group. I think where I grew up or who I was sorrounded myself with was a influence. But after I was with black men. So that's why my type is everyone as long I find them attractive physically or emotionally.

I fail to see how Pro-Blackness inherently correlates with heteronormativity. You can be Black and queer, in a partnership with another Black queer person, and be the very definition of Pro-Black.These concepts are not in conflict. Why should we be forced to inject 'diversity' meaning dating outside our community, into a political framework that is specifically about centring and prioritising Blackness? One can be proud of their heritage and engage in Black movements without identifying as Pro-Black. However, we should not distort meaningful terms to validate personal lifestyle choices. If the political stance of Pro-Blackness is about centring the Black community in all aspects of life, including romantically, then trying to redefine it to include interracial dating makes no sense. It is like claiming to be an environmentalist while working for an oil conglomerate; you can still care about the planet, but you cannot claim to represent the radical movement dedicated to dismantling the very system you are participating in..

I like all these nuances you are adding to it because it’s true, within the black community there are anti black beliefs and we don’t notice it because we forget race is a social construct but I think dating someone that is completely out of your racial group while being loudly pro black is counter productive but I don’t feel strongly about this topic

So I put this comment on someone else's video. I think it's interesting that as a black person you can love your black friends, uplift your black colleagues, black strangers but when you decide to date interracially all those other things are stripped away and ppl mark you as someone who isn't pro black ??? Like why do other people get to decide how black you are and call you non black when you show ur love for black ppl in many other ways?? Sorry no one gets to decide that for me LOOOL love ur takes as always xx
