So you’re gonna wanna use a hot water and put it in there for 10 minutes and then it should easily come off in the bowl

It’s a mix of product build up, dust, lint from fabrics (from pillow, towel, clothes etc), dead skin cells and scalp oils. It’s totally normal and it’s something everyone gets! (It’s just more noticeable if you don’t wash your hairbrush very frequently). Some hairbrushes are really difficult to clean properly, especially boar bristle brushes, but it doesn’t get as bad if you routinely remove the hair (and dust/lint) from the brush after every use, and wash it regularly ofc! I actually have two boar bristle brushes for this reason, one that I use for when I have very freshly washed hair and the other for not freshly washed hair. If you don’t have a brush cleaning tool you can use a comb to get out the hairs and dust etc caught in the bristles, and then wash the brush with warm water and shampoo or dishwash soap.

My mom used to boil my brushes in water to clean them and it worked well. She still does it and so do I.
