The truth is, trying to live two completely separate, but completely full time lives, as if the other one doesn’t exist is… completely unreasonable. Some days work gets the best of you and parenting gets the leftovers. Some days your kids get the best of you and your job gets the version that needs a caffeine drip just to get over the finish line. Other days no one gets the best of you and you feel like you’re letting everyone down. But that’s not failure - that’s logistics. When you’re trying to juggle two demanding lives, with no rest or recovery time between them, compromises are inevitable. But those compromises are not personal flaws or signs of weakness. They’re what happens when real life, responsibility, and very limited hours collide. So if today looks a bit messy, half-arsed, or held together with calendar reminders, don’t stress.
