That’s the thing about remarried empress. When I first read it, I actually thought it would be a subversion of the classic troupes of evil female empress gets overthrown by the kind heroine. But the more I read, the more I realized that for a story to want to subvert the troupes, it didn’t really do anything with them. If anything, I feel they just enforced that concept and instead of developing and creating nuanced takes of these troupes, the story double down and took sides without letting the audience decide. It doesn’t matter if Navier has terrible qualities, because the narrative says she a good person so the audience has to treat her as such. This is why I believe so many fans of this comic really are media illiterate. Unless the story itself tells you that Navier or the other royals are bad and what they are doing is actually bad, no one will say that they are bad characters because the narrative will continuously gaslight you into believing they are good people despite what theirs actions really say. If you actually looked at this story through Rashta’s POV, you’d see how much this system has failed her again and again and understand how and why she became who she is! But when it comes to the other characters, they get a pass because of their sad backstory, or their love of Navier. Despite the fact this system is benefiting them, so they don’t have to fear or worry as much as a slave!

Navier no me gusta para nada como personaje (por aburrida) pero no la culpo tanto de su mentalidad (que al final es la mentalidad del autor, por eso nunca es visto como negativo su clasismo entre otras cosas), pero con los hombres es otro cuento, los detesto 💀 odio que se pasen por alto muchas de sus actitudes solo porque aman a la prota y por ser hombres en si, hasta ese fan qué se la pasa spameando videos de rashta qué ya te comento mucho intenta defender a henry y navier, mucho hate a rashta, pero no habla absolutamente nada de soviechu cuando es el mayor culpable de todo lo malo con rashta (y ergi), la historia maneja una narrativa convenenciera y te quieren pintar a rashta como la malvada mujer desde el minuto 1, además los pecados de rashta no exoneran los pecados de los demás, no es jugar a "pero rashta se vio que hizo algo peor" porque de ella obviamente te pintan todo lo malo que hizo para generar más hate, pero los otros muchas veces lo dejan implícito, porque además esta gente no cree cosas que no muestran (como los abusos a rashta nomas porque no los mostraron explícitamente)
