it is so long a drop that if a fly 🪰 or other bugs 🐛 go into it they can't get out again. that way you don't get sick from diseases. if you don't believe me look up Baal-Zebubthe lord of the flys who lives in a offal pit .

I used one for six months. same size just clad in corrugated iron with no vent to the outside. Just sprinkles off saw dust to absorb moisture and garden lime once in a while to sweeten it up and accelerate the decomposition.

Flash long drop. Ones I used didn't have a plastic seat, just a hole in the wood. plus there was ventilation around the bottom of the long drop structure. Airflow is key.
