@livingwell.stl: “People give you what they are, not what you deserve. What you deserve, you give yourself.” It took me a long time to understand this. For years, I internalized how people showed up for me — or didn’t. If someone pulled away, I assumed I wasn’t enough. If someone treated me inconsistently, I tried harder. If someone couldn’t meet me with kindness, honesty, or effort, I wondered what was wrong with me. But the truth I had to learn (and relearn) was this: how someone treats you is a reflection of their capacity, their wounds, their self-awareness — not your worth. People can only meet you where they’ve met themselves. And waiting for others to give you confidence, safety, validation, or love will keep you stuck in a cycle of disappointment. Not because you don’t deserve it — but because no one can give you what they don’t have. The shift happened when I stopped outsourcing my worth. If I wanted confidence, I had to practice speaking to myself with respect. If I wanted peace, I had to protect my boundaries. If I wanted consistency, I had to become consistent with myself. If I wanted love, I had to stop abandoning myself to earn it. That doesn’t make you cold. It makes you grounded. It doesn’t mean you don’t care — it means you care enough to stop shrinking. You are allowed to give yourself what others couldn’t. And when you do, you stop chasing crumbs and start attracting alignment. If this resonates, you’re not alone. And if you needed this reminder today — I’m rooting for you. Leave a 🤍 below for others too. #health #wellness
