My high school Spanish II teacher, immigrated from Mexico, when asked about vosotros flat out said she was teaching Mexican Spanish not Castilian Spanish. "What's 45 minutes south of here? Mexico. What's not 45 minutes south of here? Spain. You're learning what half your neighbors are speaking!"

My Spanish teacher was Puerto Rican. She straight up told us that the state wants her to teach us vosotros. Which she did for like 2 seconds and then said no one uses it outside of Spain, and forbad us from using it.

I learned Spanish in school. Married into a Hispanic family and they can’t understand me. A Spanish-speaking friend told me that what I learned is equivalent to someone randomly speaking Shakespearean English. I understand a lot more than I can speak.

My Spanish professor got cussed smooth out for denigrating what she referred to as "incorrect" Spanish by two Latino students in class, I didnt understand the drama then but I get it now.

I went to private school and learned Spanish. We learned coche and carro but always used carro. Vosotros was also forbidden because it was from Spain and we're in America 🤣

Vosotros is INCORRECT in Mexico it is Nosotros. Being that Mexico has the largest Spanish speaking population in the world, I believe Mexico is correct.
