@balancedmindsedu: You don’t need to overhaul public education to make change. You need to know which room the decisions are being made in — and show up there. Here’s where families and community members do have influence: • School boards (policies, curriculum adoption, local assessments) • District committees (often open to parent reps — but poorly advertised) • Public comment (yes, it counts more than it feels like) • State-level feedback windows (rare, but powerful when used) Teachers can’t fix this alone. Parents can’t either. But when families and educators understand the system together, the conversation shifts — from blame to leverage. 💬 Have you ever attended a board meeting or tried to give input? What was that experience like? #KnowTheSystem #ParentAdvocacy #PublicEducation #SchoolBoardMatters #EducationExplained
Don’t forget that teachers are expected to differentiate their lessons, but cannot deviate from the curriculum or change the district made power point!!!!
