Saying she “should’ve reported it” ignores how trauma works. People aren’t thinking clearly in moments like that—especially when they’re scared or intoxicated. It’s not on victims to be perfect or heroic in the worst moment of their lives. It’s upsetting if someone got away, but shaming her for not being a hero in a traumatizing moment is victim blaming.
