A lot of white queer people have not even tried to unpack racism they grew up under because they believe queerness absolves them of being racialised as "white". It's similar (but not exactly the same) to how cis gay men won't unpack their misogyny or how non-disabled queer people won't unpack their ableism because they think their queerness absolves them of wrongdoing and negates their participation in Supremacy Culture and White Cisheteropatriarchy.

I can’t hear the accent though I’m not black enough. I need to go sit next to my mom because I can’t hear the accent. I feel like everybody just sounds a little bit different and there’s no such thing as a black accent. I am going insane.
