For those of you saying military doesn’t pay that good… You are half correct. The base pay isn’t great, but also remember we have BAH that pays for all rent and bills. We get a food allowance, a yearly uniform allowance that most just pocket. Our reenlistment bonuses can be 60k+. Depending on your branch you can get cold pay, hazard pay, etc which can be an extra 2k a month. You also get extra money if you have a dependent. Our healthcare is also free with no co pays and no medication cost. So yeah, my monthly income itself is shit but I also have all bills paired for prior to even getting my base income which means I can pocket the rest 🙏

My mil husband is literally using his GI bill to send me back to school for this so we can have a better retirement plan. Right now I'm just raising babies, digging through my veggie garden, and going to my gym classes everyday 😏.

People that say “military doesn’t pay well” clearly is not in the military or? They don’t have mos orders. My man is army national guard as a GEOINT E6 soon to be E7 and he makes really good money 🫣 oh yeah and now I am joining as well hehe Army National Guard… we planning to get married and have a kid so idk man our month income is gonna be pretty good and I’m going in as E4 (college credits)

BAH is good unless you live off base, then you're coming out of pocket for utilities and or rent. Bonuses aren't given out to every MOS and they definitely aren't giving out $60k bonuses to everyone either. Clothing allowance doesn't come close to covering what is needed for uniforms throughout the year. Medical is great but if it's a weekend or holiday you will be going to an urgent care facility off base if your duty station doesn't have an ER and then paying out of pocket for prescriptions at a regular pharmacy.

I work in finance and I love my career. We could definitely live off my husbands salary (we did during Covid when I was unemployed) but we enjoy not having to worry about money. We have a daughter and spoiled is an understatement
