Cosmetologist here I think your method is great, a key to a great silk press is to start with a good blowout and a heat protector this method allows me to keep my clients hair healthy with one pass at a lower temperature on the flat iron.

Yesssss you're so right, when my hair is silky straight, it gets greasy FAST so my silk presses onky last a few days. The lighter/fluffier it is, the longer it takes to get oily.

we are both on the exact same page I just decided to myself last year im going for a more fluffy silk press look because I can't get my hair bone straight for the life of me as long as it's silky, smooth, & straight with body im good I'll leave it to my hairdresser to give me that bone straight sleek look🤷🏾♀️😂😂
