Most home buyers don’t realize that agents aren’t required to sell a home…it’s an agreement between seller and buyer on terms they agree on. Agents still need lawyers and that cost is approx 5k. No agent necessary…the internet (and AI) has all the information a seller may need. Just hire an RE lawyer.

I was a real estate agent...people dont understand the work that goes into selling someone's house, all the expenses a realtor puts out in the hope of getting the commision...not too mention even good realtors are living commision to commision many times ...between fuel, mileage on my vehicle taking people to showings, hosting open houses, paperwork and understanding the legal ins and outs of the contracts...each listing that I had I would pay out of pocket probably 2500 to 3k before it sold to get a commission of anywhere from 500 to 10k. which I might not see for 30,60,90,120 days...as a realtor you take one a lot of risk with minimal reward.

So my question would be to you, alright and if you are unsuccessful with getting th price we want, and we have to accept a lower offer you will take a smaller commission? And the wait for the crickets… no agent can guarantee anyone what a house will sell for. It’s all about getting you on contract

The listing agent never sells your home, never brings the buyer, their goal is to put their sign up and wait for another agent to sell it while they go with clients to buy a home. And for this they expect $22,000 in comms.
