@jacquelyngrows: Trying LECA for the first time and honestly loving the process so far 💚 LECA (lightweight expanded clay aggregate) is a semi-hydro growing medium made from clay that’s heated and expanded into small balls. It helps roots get more airflow while still holding moisture. How I prep LECA: • Rinse thoroughly to remove dust • Soak in water for 12–24 hours before using Important tip: always discard the rinse and soak water outside, not down your sink. Clay residue can build up in pipes over time. Plants that commonly do well in LECA include Monsteras (especially Thai Constellations), Philodendrons, Pothos, Hoyas, and Alocasias. This is my first time using LECA to grow my plants, so I’m learning as I go 🌱 If you grow in LECA, feel free to share any tips below. They crave water so this is perfect and you’ll also notice that when you put Monstera in LECA, the tap roots don’t grow as long as when they are in soil because in LECA they are getting moisture that they need on a continuous basis
