Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: Around 12:57 a.m. on November 16, 2023, Officer Ashley Molinari from Lake Forest Police spotted a white 2017 Kia Sportage weaving south on Waukegan Road. It turned west onto Everett Road. She pulled up behind it. She matched its speed at 45 mph in a 35 mph zone. Then she stopped it at Everett Road and Old Barn Lane. She approached the driver, a 24-year-old woman named Kaitlin. Officer Molinari told her the stop was for speeding. When asked about alcohol, Kaitlin said yes. She drank one 16-ounce Stella beer at the Lantern bar in Lake Forest. That led to field sobriety tests. First came the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Officer Molinari saw no smooth eye pursuit. Nystagmus jerked at max deviation. But it did not start before 45 degrees. Next, the Walk and Turn. Kaitlin swung her arms. She turned wrong too. Last, One Leg Stand. She did not lift her foot right. She lost balance. After that, Officer Molinari offered a Preliminary Breath Test. It showed 0.081% BAC. Erratic driving, alcohol smell, her admission, bad tests, and the breath result led to arrest for DUI. Handcuffed, Kaitlin went into the patrol car. They towed her Kia. Police took her to the station. There, she agreed to breath samples. Results hit 0.067%, below 0.08%. They finished paperwork, photos, and prints. Her mom picked her up. Court date set for December 1 at Lake County Courthouse. Citations hit for DUI (625 ILCS 5/11-501(a)(2)), bad turn (625 ILCS 5/11-801), speeding (625 ILCS 5/11-601), and no insurance (625 ILCS 5/3-707). Court wrapped her case February 13, 2024. DUI and no-insurance charges got dropped. She paid $1,276.50 for the other two. 0:01 over the legal limit qualifies as a dui!?
