Might be a dumb question, but would putting a lava lamp on a dimmer or using a lower wattage bulb allow it to run for longer?

Also PSA if you get a dimmer switch and after your lamp is flowing and you turn down the dimmer it can run nonstop without burning the wax or overheating

Just to be clear Led's do get hot :) just not as hot as incandescent. Like anything the higher the power of the L.ED. the higher amount of energy starts getting put off as heat

I highly recommend using a smart outlet inline with a lava lamp. I use one on my floor standing lava lamp, lets me use Siri to turn it off/on and put it in control center! In theory I can also monitor energy use too

I run my basic original lava lamps for 7hrs every day they are on a timer, is that too much? Will I ruin my lava lamps? Please let me know thanks 😊

Do you know how to get bubbles out of the wax? I ended up redoing my grande, melting down the wax to release the master fluid from the bubbles, but now that I have it back in and running, the bubbles are worse than before 🥲

I HAVE THIS ONE!! I love it so much. I only run it during the day (sooo a little longer than suggested.) but its sooo fun to watch. Took a week or 2 to bloop smoothly, but since then I absolutely adore it

Can they just go old after a while and stop working? I had one that after a couple of years, the wax doesn’t heat up right I guess and doesn’t flow anymore so I got a new one. I still have the old one incase there was an easy fix but idk lol. The coil on the bottom seems fine and so does the bulb😅

Sadly I just got one and the wax is hella contaminated. Ima try and strain the wax once I get my LLC order in so I can use their surfactant. It’s also yellowed water and yellowed wax, so I might just replace with the LLC wax blend.
