@wombat_rescue: Happy #wombatwednesday Yesterday a volunteer drove a remote road and just happened to see this tiny little thing cross the road just as she was near. An incredibly lucky baby as there is almost no chance anyone would have found him otherwise He is only 2.5 kg so should still be on mums milk and would just be out of the pouch. There was no mum in sight and he was very thin with some scabs from attack wounds. All he wanted to do was sleep. He couldn’t keep his eyes open when he came in was a bit lethargic and sleepy. I’d say he was also struggling with the extreme heat we’ve been having and not having anything to drink. His first bottle went well, because he was so weak, but second bottle was after he slept soundly for a long time so he put up a mighty fight. But then realised the milk actually tastes pretty good. From there he has been drinking like a trooper. I only had him for last night as he is on his way to the group in whose territory he was found. @wildcareqbn will look after him from here. Travel safe lil man. I think his rescuer named him Chilli 😊
