@isitroberta: Apparently this is controversial. This is my before and after transition. One of the biggest misconceptions is that we choose this life. I would have chosen to simply be born without having to carry this feeling at all. That feeling inside isn’t comfortable. It takes years of time, energy, tears, and deep inner work to reach a place where moving forward feels possible. Socially transitioning was awkward. I didn’t want to do it. It felt exposed and uncomfortable. What people don’t see is the constant effort. Years of therapy. Letting go of fear. Learning to stop living for other people’s opinions.
