How is it my Mums ovarian cancer was found in a blood test yet it's not part of a womens usual routine blood tests? CA125 is not included in a standard, routine blood test (like a complete blood count or basic metabolic panel) and must be specifically ordered by a doctor, usually to investigate symptoms of ovarian cancer or for monitoring. It is not used as a general screening test for asymptomatic individuals.

I had my bloods done for early stages of diagnosis. It included Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) & Inhibin B. I paid $265 as both have been removed from Medicare. I was not aware of this until I sat in the chair. I have a healthcare card and this did nothing. Women cannot afford care let alone the blood work. Women will be forced to just wait and wait and wait because they cannot afford anything else

If men had overies, there would have been some sort of a screening process developed by now. This is really cruel that women have to go through this and nothing has been done so far.

this should be part of PD at school for men and women . prostate breast ovarian cancers heart attacks, stroke and first aid . This can help them and people around them . sadly these show little signs like back pain but we don't connect the dot's and many drs don't listen . if a simple blood test the dr should do it to rule it out

26-29 thousand men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer each year but there is minimal resources allocated for research of that cancer that accounts for 30% of all male cancer diagnosis in Australia by the Australian government. One of the most prevalent cancers in the country that is completely ignored by politicians because like always men are ignored by this government because women vote in higher numbers. It’s all about gathering voters as is proven by demanding double the funding be allocated to research a cancer that only effect 2000 people each year as opposed to a cancer that effects over 25,000 people per year. But let’s break it down to mortality rates. Ovarian cancer has a mortality rate of 7.2-7.5 per 100,000 people compared to prostate cancer having a mortality rate of 33 per 100,000. So not only is prostate cancer much more prevalent but it also carries a significantly higher mortality rate.
