Last December, my boss said some very painful things to me, directly to me. All of this happened simply because I asked to be paid my October salary. That same October, I was wrongly accused and publicly embarrassed. Despite everything, my salary was withheld for no valid reason, even after I asked repeatedly. When I questioned it, she couldn’t give any reasonable explanation.
She told me I would be stuck in one place for a long time just because I had been working with her for three years. Those words stayed with me. They hurt deeply. I cried in silence. I cried in church. I questioned my loyalty, my hard work, and my sincerity. All I ever did was love, respect, and remain committed to her, yet all I received in return were words that broke me.
She has said many things to me over time, but that statement affected me the most. I only want God to help me—to grow me and lift me. Recently, I started doing something different, holding on to hope for a breakthrough so I can finally move on from this place. I am still here because of my current situation, trusting that God will come through for me.
This is just a small part of my workplace story. It hasn’t been easy—I swear. But I keep pushing every single day, praying and searching for a breakthrough, asking God to help me leave this space. I already knew I was stuck; I didn’t need to be reminded in such a hurtful way.
For someone who worked diligently for over two years, there was never even a small gesture of appreciation—no Christmas or New Year gift, not even a 75cl bottle of vegetable oil. No encouragement. No celebration. Nothing.
But still, I say: It is well.
