If they can actually affored it, buy a 35k car with the money you promised, and have him keep the 35k he made. A fancy 70k car is silly compared to a great reliable car with 35k in the bank for a kid.

I mean depending on the situation I think either could be right. If the dad can handle that kind of price tag reasonably, then he should hold his end of the deal. But idk I wouldn’t want my parents putting themselves in financial trouble for the sake of a really nice car, even if I worked myself up to $35k. I would just want their financial assistance in whatever I decide upon.

yeah but he does know about needing insurance plus when he has to move out he'll need monet for an apartment. he will have a good start for his future with thst money I'd be happy with the money I saved for a car and the half from my parents to get an apartment and be living without being super stressed about how to afford things
