We don’t need the Council of Nicaea to “invent” the Trinity. The Trinity is already in the text. Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created…” There’s the Father. Genesis 1:2 “The Spirit of God was hovering…” There’s the Spirit. Genesis 1:3 “And God said…” God speaks creation into existence. John 1 tells you who that Word is, Christ. That’s not a later church addition. That’s page one. Then go to the baptism of Jesus. The Son is in the water. The Spirit descends like a dove. The Father speaks from heaven: “This is My beloved Son.” That’s three distinct persons acting simultaneously. Not one mode switching masks. And when God says, “Let Us make man in Our image,” He’s not talking to angels. Nothing else in creation is made in God’s image. Angels aren’t. They’re described with multiple faces, wings, eyes, fiery forms. We aren’t made in their image. If He were speaking to angels, we’d bear their image. We don’t. We’re made in His image. That plurality isn’t a committee of created beings. It’s divine plurality within God Himself, Father, Son, Spirit. Nicaea didn’t create that doctrine. It clarified what was already there
