Egg is Rhaegar’s great grandfather, as well as Viserys’s and Dany’s… If Jon is Rhaegar’s son, that makes Egg his great great grandfather. King Aegon V died in the fire of Summerhall shortly after Rhaegar was born and Rhaegar was there but had been evacuated as an infant by his mother. It goes Aegon V, Jaehaerys II, Aerys II, to the Game of Thrones story. How was Aegon V still alive to see Rhaegar be born at Summerhall? The ages of the characters. Children married young in Westeros but life lived long if fortune favored. Summerhall went up in flames after Aegon V tried to resurrect dragons by use of wildfire, which set the home ablaze. Aegon V and Ser Duncan perished in the fire. King Jaehaerys II ascended the throne and ruled after him. After he passed, his son Aerys became king as King Aerys II the Mad King.

Aemon was born in 198 AC, he was roughly 100 at the start of the series and died in 300 AC at the age of 102. He was the oldest living Targaryen and one of the oldest men in Westeros.

His father's brother is an uncle so Jon's great uncle. He was a Targaryan raised by a true Targaryan. Jon should've been King to full circle, Targaryan on the throne.

aemon would be over 100 years old as game of thrown was 89 years before game. make that make sense when most people died in there 50-70
