I have been on the receiving end, and when that memory comes to the surface it is with such vivid detail that it eclipses all memories. I no longer look at a cake as a centerpiece of any celebration. it is just a fancy sweet on the dessert table. Nothing more; nothing less. I leave you with this thought; why is something so beautiful with obviously hours of creative time put into the design as if it were the dome of a beautiful church, and as it is baking all the wonderful memories that are recalled and shared of previous events then finally all the intricate designs are placed upon it with precision to detail as if it were a Faberge Egg. Why do some think lighting it up with what seems like a thousand candles that will intentionally not go out when the honored quest tries to blow them out, or the person that is being presented this beautiful expression of love and respect only to have the humility of having their face shoved into it or the cake shoved into their face. Not funny.

Can we all just agree that the cake smashing thing isn’t funny anymore? It’s a deep form of disrespect, and it’s dangerous when hard cake pieces are involved. There is no other way to interpret it other than malicious. There is no good that comes out of it.

I don't get it. How can anyone think this is funny. I don't agree with this type of thing whether it's a wedding, a child's birthday or any kind of celebration. It's just something that shouldn't be done to anyone. It's disrespectful no matter what.
