My problem is I technically don’t overspend but I spend more than I wish. It’s not on things people my age enjoy to so they often make me feel like I am impulsive and overspending

I’m almost 40, if I could offer my biggest piece of advice it is this; try not to surround yourself with people who are shallow or vain. The more interaction you have with these types of people the more likely you’ll try to fit in or feel inferior. For example my friends are into art, gardening, cooking, and philanthropy… not shopping, driving fancy cars, plastic surgery etc.

As a woman retired, I read self help books and financial books and had ups and downs financially but it all paid off. I'm living a ood life in retirement and continue to be frugal in many ways so I can splurge on travel. Keep at it👏
