It’s about deciding what is real and what isn’t real because of its validation factor. People who hate or do bad things to other people or groups need validation for why it was okay to do those bad things. This is a literal problem, and it’s what no one is talking about. Why do people believe in racism? Because the negative stereotypes validate why it’s okay for them to do or say bad things to that group. Change “racist” to “voters,” and you see the same pattern: people vote for awful politicians because the lies those politicians tell validate the harmful beliefs they already hold about certain groups. We could focus on fighting this problem, which is a mental disease, or try to fight a million small fires, and you get to decide which is more beneficial. Obviously, addressing the source of the problem would be the most beneficial, but no one does that. Everyone makes videos about tiny little fires.

They do that a lot with Brian cox too. The videos start with a camera on them and then moves to graphics or some such and you can hear an almost imperceptible difference in the tone of their voices.

To me, it seems that AI produces audio that provides little or no inflection in the voice of the stolen face. Sometimes the audio words don't match the mouth.
