Historically, being "alternative" was about music, ideology, and rebelling against the status quo. By turning it into a competition about who has the most "ethical" tags in their clothing, we are just creating a new form of consumerism. I hate these comments, fast fashion dominates the market, it now dominates second-hand racks. Most "finds" in charity shops or bins are discarded Shein or Temu items. Buying a Shein shirt second-hand still means you are wearing a garment produced under poor conditions. If the "ethics" are about the garment's origin, second-hand fast fashion doesn't magically erase its history. Apps like Vinted or Depop are often cited as the "easy" alternative, but between shipping scams, "not as described" items, and the lack of a return policy, it is a financial gamble that many people can't afford to take. The idea that everyone should just "make their own clothes" isn't being reasonable. If you say someone isn't "truly" Goth/Punk/Emo because they bought their boots from a fast-fashion store makes you part of the problem.

h&m is getting smaller since 2022: XL is 42, sometimes the "cool" clothes are in the tween section, so its range is xs to L .... nothing more to say
