@crimexpod: The video was filmed at a cliffside tourist viewpoint in Ayacucho, Peru, where visitors are strapped into a spinning chair marketed as an “astronaut experience.” The device is mounted over a ravine and rotates riders outward toward open air for a thrill effect. In the footage, the man is already seated and spinning when the metal frame begins to flex under the load. Without warning, the chair’s support fails mid-rotation. The seat detaches completely, and the man drops straight into the ravine below. There is no safety cable visible engaging and no secondary restraint stopping the fall. The camera continues recording as the chair frame collapses and the man vanishes from view almost instantly. People nearby can be heard reacting as the fall continues out of sight. The drop is steep, uneven, and littered with rock and brush. The structure above is left twisted and hanging where the chair had been attached. Emergency services were contacted immediately as the area was cleared. Local reports later confirmed the man survived the fall and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He sustained serious injuries consistent with a high-impact descent but remained alive. Authorities shut down the attraction and began examining the equipment involved in the collapse. #accident
