If someone came to me with that framework where they demanded a certain response from me, it would be instantly setting up the conversation to fail. You can guide a discussion but you don’t get to insist on anything at the end of it unless you want to really annoy people.

I think…this is something I will need to practice (role play almost) before I put into practice. The framework is excellent, but I know in order for it to work effectively I need to think about the words I will say, otherwise, yeh, it could backfire.

I’m the boss over at least four full time and four part time employees. At least every other week, I’m going between two people who need to talk to each other about how to accomplish their jobs (residential house cleaning) and they love talking to me. But the first question I always ask is “Did you bring this up with your partner?” Nope. Never. Surprised Pikachu face. Communication games are PEAK for partner-dependent jobs, all I’m saying.

Idk, providing an outline is ok in theory. Your actual execution of what it sounds like is passive aggressive. I would definitely feel defensive if I heard “and I want it to never happen again” before we even start talking.
