On another note.. dimetapp is a cough suppressant. And you don’t want to give that to young children. Suppressing the cough means the mucus will stay in and could cause it to worsen and even cause pneumonia. You want them to have an expectorant so it will all come out. The cough is annoying but it just means his body is working.

Dimetapp only works for so long. Definitely do marshmallows the gelatin helps coat the throat and Zyrtec to help dry up the flem. Thats what I do for my 8yo also nose spray helps too

My little girls chronic cough ended up being diagnosed as asthma. Since having a maintenance inhaler we dont have that issue anymore! Something to consider if nothing else.

Dimatap was my favorite medicine as a chronically sick kid. Tasted good (and I hate grape but theirs is good) and I knew I’d always get some rest. Got some when my boy was small and I swear it wasn’t the same.. I never bought it again, actually.. which is a bummer.

My son had a cough for a month. Finally did hot chocolate and spoon full of honey three night in a row and it went away. Real honey from famers market

I had to have my mom send me some kid cough medicine from Mexico. Because nothing was working for my twins, they had a cough for 2months. Pediatrician gave them an inhaler, then antibiotics because nothing was working.

Omg I have a 2 and 4 yr old. And they’re both coughing so bad especially at night. I wish they had a version for toddlers 😭 yes I’ve tried honey It’s a hit and miss.

Dimetapp has been around forever. My doctor prescribed it for me when I was a kid and I'm in my 60s. I used it for my kids too. They make it for kids and adults.

I’m 36. I remember when my mom gave me dimatap, I was 8. She gave it to me at bedtime and I didn’t wake up until the next day at 4:30 PM.
